When learning Dutch as a second language, there may often be huge differences when it comes to the students: the material may be too easy for one and too difficult for another. A good computer programme can help chart the gaps in the student’s knowledge and provide exercises to fill them. This can improve the quality of the course and enhance the performance.

To complement the training that you do with Polytaal, each student is given the opportunity to take part in our e-learning programme. The package offered by Polytaal Online consists of modules that are specifically tailored to our Dutch as a second language courses. The basic principle of these modules is a key that directs the student to the exercise material based on mistakes made. This programme is designed in such a way that the student himself can get started right away without having to follow a host of instructions.

Polytaal Online enhances the advantages of working with the computer: you train at a time that suits you, even if you are on the move and are not able to attend regular classes.

How does it work?

All you need is an Internet connection and a log-in code and the log-in code is valid for one year.

What are the benefits?

• a test is used to determine the knowledge and skills a participant already has and the content of the programme is automatically adjusted accordingly;
• in the course of the work, there is a frequent and adequate response to the student’s activities (focused feedback);
• participants’ progress is measured and responses are recorded in detail;
• the student’s motivation increases: the programme offers lots of variety and hands- on activity, resulting in most participants having fun working on the computer. Moreover, learning from mistakes made is part of the learning process.
